Student Leadership Team

Portrait of Trinity Grimes, while serving on the Dragonfly Initiative student leadership team.

Trinity Grimes

Director, Services

Trinity is a former collegiate student-athlete who played Division III soccer at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, for all four years of her undergraduate studies. She graduated in May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Psychology, along with a minor in Criminal Justice. Currently, she is pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Minnesota. Trinity is passionate about helping others achieve their mental wellness goals and has long been drawn to the field of mental health.

As Director of Services for Dragonfly Initiative, Trinity has been developing a program to establish a Dragonfly presence on college campuses. Her focus is not only on building awareness, but also giving student athletes confidence in knowing that Dragonfly is a safe place to improve their mental health. Through a pilot program, Trinity is laying the foundation to mentor and coach other students in customizing services to fit the needs and culture of their own campuses. She also remains involved in Dragonfly’s growth and evolution, contributing to its mission, vision, and future direction.

Outside of her work, Trinity enjoys creative activities such as painting, coloring, and drawing, and is an avid reader. She is very family-oriented and loves spending time at home—especially with her beloved golden retriever, Bentley.

Jada Cernilgia

Director, Engagement

As Director of Engagement, Jada has worked in social media for Dragonfly, including launching our very first podcast/videocast, Dig Deep with Dragonfly.

Her media experience began when she started her own photography and videography business, Jada Rae Media, as a high school junior. She now has her own YouTube channel where she shares her life as a Division I athlete. Her hope is to inspire the next generation of athletes by speaking about her own experiences, good and bad.

Mental health is something Jada holds close to her heart. As the captain of her volleyball team, she has worked to bring awareness to coaches, staff, and players of what athletes go through on a day-to-day basis. She believes it is a topic that needs to be talked about more within high school, club, and college athletics. She continues to grow through her own mental health journey while encouraging others to do the same.

Jada has played volleyball for Northern Illinois University for most of her college career, and was recruited to the University of Wisconsin–Madison for a fifth year. She is majoring in Media Studies with a minor in Sport Management.

Laina Gustafson

Editorial & Blog Manager

Laina Gustafson, Editorial & Blog Manager, joined the leadership team of Dragonfly Initiative in early fall 2024. She leads the Dragonfly Blog and serves as a content writer and editor, as well as conducting external research on student-athlete mental health.

Laina is a journalism major at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, and a member of the Emerson Women’s Lacrosse team. She is excited to share the ups and downs of being a Division III athlete, the female athlete experience, and the challenges of balancing life and work.

Outside of Dragonfly, Laina works as Associate Producer for WEBN Political Pulse, Emerson’s broadcast news channel, and as a staff reporter for both WEBN and the Middleton Times-Tribune. She grew up in Cross Plains, Wisconsin, and played a variety of sports throughout her childhood.

Laina graduated from Middleton High School in 2024 after four years on the varsity lacrosse and volleyball teams. She is also passionate about environmental activism and has a deep love for the outdoors. When she’s not reporting, writing blog posts, or playing lacrosse, you can find her in a coffee shop or taking a walk around Boston.

Jordan LaScala

Content Production & Design Manager

Jordan LaScala, Content Production & Design Manager for Dragonfly, is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in mathematics with a certificate in architecture. Drawing from her personal experiences as a student-athlete, she serves Dragonfly Initiative as Content Production and Design Manager, with a focus on meeting diverse needs.

She believes mental health advice should be personalized to each individual’s experiences. As someone on the autism spectrum, she finds that mental health guidance specifically designed for neurodivergent athletes—by neurodivergent athletes—resonates most, particularly when it considers sensory, social, and developmental factors.

Jordan is thrilled to be part of Dragonfly Initiative’s mission to empower student-athletes and amplify the voices of those who are often underrepresented in athletics.

Logan Roy-Lewis

Financial Development & Sustainability Coordinator

Logan is currently a student at Florida State University, pursuing a double major in management and finance. While not currently playing sports, he has been a student athlete for a large part of his life, both playing football and running track in high school. He completed his high school education at Middleton High School, and decided to leave athletics after graduating to further pursue his educational goals.

In college, Logan is actively involved on campus, receiving University Honors as well as being a member of many organizations such as the Pi Sigma Epsilon business fraternity and Omicron Delta Kappa honor society, as well as the Financial Management Association. While these organizations were amazing for Logan’s personal and professional development, he also wanted to be a part of something that helped make more of an impact, which led him to joining the Dragonfly Initiative in January of 2025, where he serves as the financial development and sustainability coordinator, aiming to provide more financial resources to the Dragonfly Initiative so that we may further pursue our goals and provide quality resources to those we seek to help.

Outside of college, Logan enjoys many outdoor activities such as fishing, running, and playing sports. He also loves to travel, having recently studied abroad in Spain and Panama. Whatever Logan is involved in, he makes the most of it, and loves working with the Dragonfly Initiative!
